The challenge

From 11 January to 18 May 2027, the east tube of the Westerschelde tunnel is closed. Traffic then alternates: one hour in one direction, the next hour back. That cuts traffic through the tunnel by 50 to 80 percent. Everyone who travels daily between Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and the rest of Zeeland has to plan differently during those months: leave later, work closer to home or share a ride.

What Agensea did

Zeeland Schakelt is our own initiative, built on behalf of the Province of Zeeland. The platform brings supply and demand together on both sides of the tunnel, so you can absorb the closure without queuing every day. We build, run and support it; the province promotes it.
