The challenge

Gustu and his family grow vanilla in Tabanan, on the land of his mother's family. They started when the pandemic emptied Bali and other work disappeared. Visitors found the farm through Google Maps and WhatsApp; there was no website.

What Agensea did

We spent a morning walking the farm, filmed and photographed, and built a site where the bean ripens as you go: scroll, and it turns from green to dark brown. Gustu tells his own story in short clips between the vines, a hand-drawn walking map shows how a visit goes, and ordering works through a WhatsApp message the site writes for you. The site is in seven languages, from Indonesian to Korean. It comes with a small QR card to hand to visitors, and we arranged the domain for him.

Why for free

When we travel, we keep working. Meet someone along the way with a great story and no proper website, and we build them one. This story was too good to leave on Google Maps alone.
